Friday at 3 p.m. in the nur-
ses' residence. She is a gradu-
ate of Victoria College, Uni-

and fast president of the W'o-
€netl's Auxiliary of the Ottawa
ivic Hospital, eleven years
ago. She served on the provru-
:411 association for six years be-
fore becoming president in
:)etober 190 1. She is a mem-
her of the Board of Directors of
the Ontario Hospital Associa-
tion, and its Public Relations
Committee.
During the war she was
chairman of the Women's War
Work Committee of the Ottawa
and Ottawa Valley branch of
the Red Cross, and on the exec-
utive
xecutive of the Ontario Division.
She was also a member of the
Red Cross Corps.
Mrs. R. J. Johnson of Ot-
tawa, corresponding secretary
of the Association and Mrs.
Bowes of C'\s- en Sound, treasurer,
will accompany Mrs. Sheridan
to Wingham. They will tour
the hospital from fl to 3 p.m. ,
after being interviewed on
television, and at three o'clock
Mrs. Sheridan will address the
Hospital Auxiliary in the nurses'
residence,
Mrs. Sheridan will speak on
matters relating to auxiliary
work, and will show slides.
Tea will be served.
All ladies of the community
are invited to attend this meet-
ing.

To Live Near Brussels
Verna May O'Hare of Wing -
ham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs,
Verne O'Hare of Corunna, and
Jim Steffler, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Clem Steffler of Brussels,
were united in marriage on
May 18, by Rev. S. G. Mooney,
in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic
Church, Corunna.
The church was decorated
with pink snapdragons and
white mums. Miss Teena Mil-
ler was the organist and Victor
Griffin sang, "Ave Maria",
"Mother at Thy Feet Is Kneel-
ing" and "On this Day, 0
Beautiful Mother",
Mr. O'Hare gave his daugh-
ter in marriage. The bridal
gown was floor -length organza
and imported Chantilly lace,
with sabrina neckline. The
shirred brief sleeves were set
off by Chantilly lace, which
also accented the bodice. The
billowing skirt with apron front,
was edged with hand -clipped
lace appliques, and fell into a
majestic cathedral train of
several yards of organza and
lace.
Her organza gauntlets taper-
ed
apered to points over the wrists. A
crown of sequins held the scal-
loped veil of illusion, adorned
with hand -clipped lace appli-
ques and sequins. She carried
a cascade of pink sensation
roses with white stephanotis.
Miss Margaret Sweeney of
Wingham was the maid of
honor. She wore a bouffant
gown of pink organza, with
bracelet sleeves, rounded neck-
line and a self -floret at mid -
waist. Miss Dolores Heffernan
of Wingham and Miss Helen
O'Hare of Corunna were the
bridesmaids and wore identical
gowns to that of the maid of
honor. Their veils were held
with matching pink rosettes,
and they carried cascade bou-
quets of white mums and pink
stephanotis.
The groom's attendants were
Joseph Steffler, Brussels, Clem
Steffler of Wingham and Gerald
Heather of Brussels. The ushers
were Charles Leckie of Sarnia
and Stewart Steiss of Brussels.
The reception was held in
the Legion Hall and a dance
was held in the public school
auditorium the evening of the
wedding.
For the wedding trip to Eas-
tern Canada the bride wore a
three-piece beige linen suit
with green accessories, and a
Cymbod orchid.
The bride is a RNA graduate
at Wingham District Hospital.
The couple will live at R. R. 3,
Brussels.

Bowlers Win
The Legion Auxiliary meet-
ing was held Iast Wednesday
evening in the Legion Home.
The president, Mrs, V. Du-
charme, held the opening exer-
cises and Comrade Mrs, Alvin
Sell was at the piano.
Capt. Stanley Newman
made an appeal for a canvass
for the Red Shield, and it was
decided to undertake this Mon-
day, June 3rd,
The bowling team from
Wingham won the Luella Hall
Trophy for Zone C3 again this
year, for the third time, which
was presented in Goderich on
May 22nd at the Spring Rally.
Mrs. Seli won the membership
draw.

day and spent an hour with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. James
Sell, before returning to Orange-
ville.

In Arena for Trade Fair
The members of the Kinette
Club were pleased with the ex-
cellent response to the Art Exhi-
bit,
xhibit, which they are sponsoring
for the first time, in conjunc-
tion with the Trade Fair.
Over 350 entries were re-
ceived, and have been judged
by E. L. Stuckey, Mrs. D. A.
Rann of Brussels, and Guenther
Heim of Wingham.
The art display will be open
from 2 p, m. to 5 and 7:30 to
10:30 during the fair. The ex-
hibit will be upstairs.
The Kinettes are grateful to
the teachers for their co-opera-
tion, and to the judges, who
faced a tremendous task,

former's home last Saturday

The gathering of forty was
attended by the family and
cousins of the bride-to-be.
The dining -room table was de-
corated by a snapdragon centre-
piece and tall tapers on a lace
cloth.
Mrs, Herm Tegler, of Walk-
erton, entertained at the piano
and Miss Mary Tegler led the
contests. Guests attended from
Kincardine, London, Walker-
ton, CIifford, Kitchener, Wing -
ham, Toronto and Belgrave.
Miss Scott very fittingly
thanked everyone for her gift
and a dainty buffet lunch was
served.

A quiet wedding took place
Friday evening, May 17, in
Wingham, when Lois Elaine
Jamieson and Russell Chester
Teeple exchanged vows in a
double -ring ceremony perform-
ed by Rev. T. E. Kennedy.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Moffat Jamieson
of Port Elgin, and the groom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ches-
ter Teeple, Paisley.
The bride chose a white
waltz -length dress of lace and
organza over taffeta. A pearl
crown held her fingertip veil.
She carried red roses and white
'mums and ivy.
Mrs. Keith Moffat was her
sister's attendant, wearing a
turquoise waltz -length dress of
organza over taffeta. Her
bouquet was of yellow 'mums.
Keith Moffat was grooms-
man.
Mr. and Mrs. Teeple visited
Belleville and Niagara on their
wedding trip. They will reside
on the groom's farm in Elder-
slie Township south of Paisley.
