Mr. and Mrs. George Gib- son, Miss Gertrude Bush and Mrs, W, E, Weir attended the funeral of their cousin, Mrs, Avis Edgar, in Wingham on Saturday. Miss Elizabeth Robinson, Hespeler, and Mr. Robt, Robin- son, Kitchener, spent the week- snd with Mr. and Mrs. Dean Karn, Messrs. James Sanderson, Toronto and David Sanderson, Hamilton, were home for the holiday week -end. Entertains Guests, Marks 45th Anniversary GORRIE--Mrs. Kenneth Tay- lor, president of the Huron Diocesan Woman's Auxiliary, was guest speaker for the 45th anniversary of the Woman's Auxiliary of St. Stephen's Anglican Church. Mrs. Fred Hunt of Goderich, past presi- dent of Huron Deanery W.A., also attended and spoke briefly. Gifts were presented by Mrs. Edward Newton and Mrs. Earl Underwood. Ladies of the Fordwich Anglican Church and members of St. Stephen's Eve- ning Auxiliary were guests. The president, Mrs. Gordon Underwood, presided. Corres- pondence was read by Mrs. Earl Underwood. Mrs. Norman Wade gave a sketch of the W.A. organized by the late Mrs. P. G, Powell and of the early officers. Mr. Archie Aitchison has been a patient in Victoria Hos- pital, London, the past two weeks, where he underwent surgery. Visitors with Mr. andMrs. Fred McQuillin on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Barry McQuillin and Jill of Kitchener, Mr. Ivan McQuillin and Miss Mild- red Somers of Elmira and Mrs. John Miller of Lucknow. Mrs. Wm. Gallaher of Nor- wood visited with her brother, Mr. Wallace Miller and other relatives over the week -end. FOA Members Plant Trees BELGRAVE—North Huron Junior Farmers held a work bee at the Morris Federation Park on Monday evening. As a com- munity project for their club they planted between 500 and 600 spruce and pine trees. these trees were purchased by the Junior Farmers from the Department of Lands and For- ests. They planted them six feet apart on the south bank of the river. Those taking part in the bee were President Murray Hoover, John Wightman, Alex Nethery, Don Martin, John Nixon, Ivan Dow, Laurie Black, Jim Spivey, Bill Coultes, Glenn Coultes, Donald Procter, George Procter, Murray Procter, Bob Higgins, Murray Scott, Accepts Call BELGRAVE--Rev. Arthur Jackson of Atwood has accepted the call to Knox United Church, Belgrave and the Calvin -Brick charge. He is expected to be in the pulpit the first Sunday of July. Rev. G. Anderson gave a short talk and closed with prayers. Refreshments were served, featuring a beautifully decorated anniversary cake. Ira McLean, Mr, and Mrs. Bill Hart, Douglas and Dale, Oshawa, were week -end guests of their parents, Mr, and Mrs. Wm. Hart and Mr, and Mrs. Edward Newton. Mr. and Mrs, George Gibson, Murray and Glennis, visited Mr, and Mrs. Dean Gibson, Lucan, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wilk- in and Shelley of Sarnia spent several days last week with Mrs. Wilkin's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wheeler. Mrs. W. A. Gibson and Roland of Dundas visited the former's mother, Mrs. J. F. McLean during the holiday week -end. Mr. and Mrs. Laurie VanVel- sor accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Hembly of Dublin, on a week -end trip to North Bay and Sudbury. Sunday visitors at Mr. and Mrs, Bruce Hays, were Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Agar of Wingham; Mr. and Mrs. Chas.
