Wed at Wroxeter Last Saturday
Yellow gladioli and white
mums formed the setting in
Wroxeter United Church on
Saturday afternoon for the wed-
ding of Elaine Susan, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Statia
of Wroxeter, and James Duncan
Moffat of Teeswater, son of
Mr. and Mrs. John Moffat,
Rev. Fred Taylor officiated.
Mrs. E. Martin was the organist
and Frank Renwick sang "Wed-
ding Prayer" and "Because",
Wingham Hospital during the
past week, suffering frompneu-
monia.
Mr, and Mrs. Chas. Moore,
Douglas and Karen spent Sun-
day with Mr. and Mrs. Lorne
McCallister, Teeswater, and
also visited Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
McCallister Sunday evening.
Mr, and Mrs. Ira McLean,
accompanied by Mrs. Don
Gibson and family of Monkton,
visited Mr. and Mrs. Ken Col-

wedding in Wroxeter United
Church.
Mr. Will Ringler visited his
daughter, Mrs. John Jefferson,
Mitchell, for a few days and is
now visiting relatives in Wind-
sor and Detroit.
Mr, and Mrs. Lou Hutton
and Linda of Wingham were
supper guests at the home of
Mr. John Hupfer on Monday.
Brenda Townsend and Rickey
Clarke were taggers for the
Wingham Hospital Tag Day on
Saturday. Thanks to the Wrox-
eter people for their support of
this worthwhile cause.
Mrs. Frank Graham, St.
Marys was a Sunday visitor
with Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Hig-
gins.
Mr. and Mrs, Robt Mowbray
and family, Kitchener, with
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Reidt,
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Edgar and
son of Kitchener, visited with
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Coupland.
Family Celebrates
201h Anniversary
A family gathering was held
Sunday at the home of Percy
McLean of Belgrave, to cele-
brate the 20th wedding anniver-
sary of Mr. and Mrs. William
J. Gordon of Strathroy.
A turkey dinner was served
to the guests. Attending be-
sides Mr. and Mrs, Gordon and
family, were Mr. and Mrs.

Mr. Statia gave his daughter
in marriage. She chose peau
de faille taffeta fashioned on
sheath lines, with a full back
falling into a brush train. The
scoop neckline and three-
quarter length sleeves were
appliqued with medallions and
her crown of pearls held her
bouffant French illusion veil.
She carried a white Bible crest-
ed with pink roses and pink
rose buds were knotted into the
white streamers.
Mrs. Donald Green of Tees -
water was the matron of honor.
She wore daffodil yellow sheer
organza and the bridesmaids,
Miss Gail Statia, sister of the
bride, and Miss Anne Douglas,
wore mist green. The gowns
were fashioned alike with bell
skirts falling into back folds,
and caught, by miniature bows,
scoop necklines and elbow -
length sleeves. Their head-
dresses were white whimsies
caught by large silk mums.
Their accessories were white
and they carried yellow and
white mums.
James Scott of Seaforth was
best man and ushers were Paul
Statia, brother of the bride and
John Moffat, brother of the
groom.
A three-storey wedding cake
graced the bride's table at the
Wroxeter community centre,
where the reception was held.
The tables were decorated with
spring flowers,
The bride's mother wore a
suit of pink boucle with white
accessories. The groom's mo-
ther wore a blue figured silk
dress with nylon sheer overlay,
and white accessories. They
had corsages of white carna-
tions.
For the wedding trip Mrs.
Moffat wore a figured silk
dress and cocoa brown coat
ensemble, which she had made
herself, with bag and hat to
match. Her corsage was pink
roses.
The couple will live in
Waterloo.
Hold Shower for
Shirley Vollmer
WHITECHURCH— Thirty-
five ladies attended a shower at
the home Mrs, Thos. Met-
calfe, Turnberry, on Saturday
evening, in honour of the ap-
proaching marriage of Miss
Shirley Vollmer.
After a short program, the
bride-to-be was presented with
a clothes hamper, a pair of
bed -room lamps and a star
electric clock. Miss Vollmer
thanked her friends for their
kindness and the useful gifts,
and lunch was served and the
social time enjoyed by all.
