Elsie Demerling read the Scrip-
ture lesson and roll call was a
thought for agriculture, an-
swered by eleven members.
The Deanery meeting will
be held in Goderich on May 21
at 10 a.m. Mrs. Browne gave
a chapter from the study book
on John the Baptist, assisted by
Miss Elva Foster. Mrs. Elsie
Strong reported on the Dioce-
san W.A. annual in London on
May lst.
Mrs. Emmerson Ferguson
led in the Litany. Invitations
were received to join with the
Fordwich U.C.W. on Thursday
evening, May 9; from Gorrie
for Thursday, May 16 and from
Newbridge for June 11th. It
was announced that Rev. J. H.
Webster of Walkerton Anglican
Church will show slides and
speak on his work in the Arctic,
on May 28 in the basement of
the church. Mrs. Elsie Strong
closed with the benediction.
Bales of quilts, layettes,
new and used clothing were
packed to be sent to the Indian
Residential School at Cardston,
Alberta and Mohawk Institute

45th anniversary on Thursday
afternoon, at the regularmeet-
ing in the Sunday School room.
Mrs. Kenneth Taylor of Goder-
ich, president of Huron Dioce-
san W.A., will be the speaker.

GORRIE—The Rev. J. H.
Daunt, rector of Warwick and
Arkona, was at St. Stephen's
Church on Sunday for service
of Holy Communion. Flowers
in the church were given by
Mrs. Milton Opperthauser of
Elmira and Mrs. Gordon Jeffer-
son, Owen Sound in memory of
their mother, Mrs. Wm. Lock-
hart.

Vows Exchanged
GORRIE—A pretty wedding
was solemnized at Kimberley
United Church on Saturday,
May llth, when Rev. G. L.
James, of Toronto, united in
marriage Carol Anne Weber,
second daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Merle Weber of Kimber-
ley and Ronald Sheldon Mann
of Clarksburg, youngest son of
Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Mann of
Gorrie.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father and chose a
street -length dress of white
nylon over taffeta, short sleeve
and bouffant skirt. Her should-
er -length veil was held in
place by a crown of rhinestones.
She carried a white Bible,
crested with pink carnations
and streamers.
The bridesmaid, Miss Pau-
line Short, of Kimberley,
cousin of the bride, wore a
cornflower blue nylon dress,
identical to that of the bride.
She carried a nosegay of pink
and white carnations.
Jack Mann of Gorrie, brother
of the groom, was best man.
Glenn Weber of Kimberley,
brother of the bride and Lorne
Mann of Gorrie, brother of the
groom, acted as ushers. The
wedding music was played by
Mrs. Ralph Stafford, of Kim-
berley.
The reception was held at
the Blue Water Auto Court at
Meaford.
The bride's mother received
the guests wearing a pink linen
dress with white accessories.
She was assisted by the groom's
mother, wearing blue printed
silk and white accessories.
They wore corsages of white
c arnations.
Special guests at the wedd-
ing were the bride's two grand-
mothers, from Thornbury and
the groom's grandfather, Mr.
Ed. McCallum of Wroxeter.
After the reception the bride
and groom left for a honey-
moon to Northern Ontario. Her
going away costume was a
beige arnel linen suit and beige
hat with brown accessories.
She wore a corsage of pink
carnations. The couple will
reside in Thornbury.
