It was moved that council
give approval to the Arena
Building Committee to proceed
with the new arena at Bel -
grave.

Of Lorne Scotts
Ex -members of the Lorne
Scots are invited to attend the
presentation of the colors cere-
monies and festivities, which
will be held at Caledon, in
October, concurrently with the
World Plowing Match. A rep-
resentative of Her Majesty the
Queen will officiate at the
presentation.
Many members of the Peel,
Dufferin and Halton Counties
(Militia) Regiment served with
other Canadian and Common-
wealth units, and are known to
have dispersed across Canada
and other countries following
demobilization in 1945.
If you are an ex -Lorne Scot,
or know the whereabouts of one,
please drop a line as soon as
possible to the General Chair-
man, Presentation Committee,
Lorne Scots Regiment, The
Armouries, 12 Chapel St.,
Brampton, Ontario.
The Regiment's new colors
include battle honours, won in
the Second World War, and are
in addition to honours achieved
in the First World War by prede-
cessor units, which were amal-
gamated to form the present
regiment.
The program, now in pre-
paration, will feature a guard
of honour for the Queen's Rep-
resentative on October 8; a
mess dinner for officers and
senior NCO's October 9; regi-
mental balls for officers, sen-
ior WO's and NCO's and all
ranks October 10, and the
presentation on October 12.
The unit will be in full
dress uniform for the presenta-
tion and the pipes and drums,
and military (brass and reed)
band are being outfitted in
every detail of ceremonial uni-
forms and accoutrements. A
detachment of veterans may be
included in the parade.

A formation of birds was
flying south for the winter, and
one bird near the back asked
another, "Why do we always
follow that same idiot leader?"
"How ridiculous to ask," re-
plied the other. "He's got the
map."

1ST WINGHAM TROOP
P. L. Ron Hitchings broke
the flag on Wednesday night
and inspection was made by
Scouter McIntyre. Stags have
25 points; Buffaloes 17; Cougars
11 and Wolves 10.
A contest was held in fire
lighting and in cart making.
LOON PATROL
Scoutmaster Bob McIntyre,
Quartermaster Bob Crewson and
Cub Leader Rod Cameron were
in charge of an overnight camp
last Saturday, when the Loon
Patrol, patrol leaders and se-
conds, camped at Percy Cas -
lick's farm.
The boys left Wingham
about 1:30. Two tents were
set up on arrival, and the
afternoon was spent working on
a derrick the Scouts are build-
ing.
The patrol went to bed soon
scodug
activities
after supper, since it was such
a wet night and most of the
boys were asleep soon after
9 o'clock.
Some of the early birds, of
course, were up by about 5:1
but breakfast wasn't served
until 7.
A Scout's Own church ser-
vice was conducted by Scouter
McIntyre.
The leaders gave instruction
and passed tests, on lashings,
trees and exercises. Work was
continued on the derrick and
after supper they returned
home.
Attending the camp were
Bryan and Mike Forsyth, Grant
Currie, Ron Hitchings, George
Jardine and Steve Gorrie.
The patrol is grateful to
Mr. Caslick and to Mr. Crew -
son, Mr. Currie and Mr. For-
syth for supplying transporta-
tion.
