Gail McAstocker was the com- mentator for Goderich, Shirley Machan for Blyth and Janice Raeburn for Tiger Dunlop. "How to Look Your Best" was the exhibit chosen by Dungan- non I and the Auburn group. Nereda Campbell gave the commentary for Auburn and Valerie Hodges for Dungannon, Dungannon 11 presented a skit, "Making the Most of Our Clothes" and the Brussels club presented a second skit on the same theme. County Honour pins and certificates were presented to Gerda Exel of Brussels and Le- nora Hallahan, Blyth. Mrs. Wes. Bradnock made the pre- sentation. The Provincial Honour pin and certificate and a copy of Encyclopedia Britannica Year Book was presented to Donna McNee of Dungannon, by Miss Josephine Woodcock. Other presentations were made to leaders and 4-1-1 Club members for completing one and two projects. Politician: Congratulate me. I got the nomination. Wife: Honestly? Politician: Why bring that up? Hear Speaker on Mental Health The Business & Professional Women held their monthly din- ner meeting in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church parlour on Tuesday evening, with 36 members and visitors present, The guest speaker, Dr. J. N. Hagan, medical superin- tendent of the Ontario Hospital, Goderich, was introduced by Mrs. J. Alexander and spoke on mental institutions and causes of emotional distur- bances. Mrs. H. Bateman thanked the speaker. President Miss Yvonne Mc- Pherson, then presided over the meeting. Mrs. Crewson gave her report as delegate to the Regional meeting, held in Meaford on Sunday. A new member was initiated into the club. Reports of the year were read and approved. Mrs. Chopin took the chair for the report of the nominat- ing committee. Mrs. E. Parkinson Gets Promotion, Move Constable Jack Parkinson, who has been a member of the Wingham Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police for the past three and a half years, has been promoted to the rank of Corporal and is being moved to Milton. Corporal Parkinson carne to Wingham from Goder- ich. Mr. and Mrs. Parkinson and their daughter Lynn have made many warm friends in Wing - ham, who regret the news of their departure. They were members of St. Paul's Angli- can Church and several organi- zations within the community. Lightning Bolt Creates Havoc Mrs. Reta Drehmann of Wingham witnessed a scene of destruction recently when she visited her father's farm north of Teeswater. A large cherry tree had been struck by a lightning bolt of such force that pieces of the tree were scattered over the entire area of a field. Some of the sections of the trunk and big branches had ripped into the standing trees in an adjacent bush. Snell has re- turned home after spending the past three weeks in Chicago, visiting her sister and nephew, Mrs. Edward Effting and Charles —Mrs. George Porter and son, Jimmy, have been visiting with her parents in Quebec City for the past three weeks. —Miss Barbara King is home from Brescia College, London, and is visiting with her parents, Mr, and Mrs. Owen King for a month. —Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Al- ton of London visited on Sunday with his mother, Mrs. William Alton. —Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sewers of Greenock and Mr. and Mrs. Currie Moffat, Lois and Kevin of Teeswater, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. GeorgeDreh- mann. —Mr. and Mrs, Jim Camp- bell of Kitchener spent the week -end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stan Campbell and Mr. and Mrs. John Strong. —Sister Mary Stanislaus has returned to St. Peter's Convene, Trenton, after spending ten days with her sister, Mrs. Owen King and Mr. King. --Miss'Annabeile Reading and Mr. John Lonnee, of Bur- lington, visited over the week- end with Miss Alice Reading. —Mr. and Mrs, Norman Cameron are attending the Na- tional Association of Tobacco and Confectionery Distributors convention, held this week in the Seaway Towers Motel, in Toronto. FACE LIFTING Highway 86, west of the Zetland bridge, has had a face lifting. The road has been widened, the road bed raised up several feet, and hugh packing machinery is making a solid foundation from the bridge to the Zetland hill. Large Crowd at Conservation Club The Junior Conservation Club held its meeting at the club- house on Monday night with 23 Juniors and four instructors in attendance, The president, Randy Martyr, was in the chair. There was a discussion on softball and two practices were called for this week. A period on safe gun hand- ling was conducted by the in- structors. The Legion Trophy is back in the clubhouse with the name of last year's winner, Paul Gardner, inscribed on it. Pamphlets on guns and shoot- ing and safety with guns were given out. Mrs, Sinna- mon, Hugh, Mrs. Kenneth Sin- namon and Mrs. Stewart For- syth made the trip to London on Saturday. —Mrs. Herb Campbell has been a patient in Wingham Hos- pital during the past week, following a heart seizure. —Mr, and Mrs. Jack Mac- Intyre visited on Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Purdon of Lucknow. Mr. Purdon was celebrating his 84th birthday this week -end. —Mr. and Mrs. Peter Cu Q.. and Pat arrived home from their trip to Europe last week. They were met at Toronto by Mrs. H. H.
