Science Club Visits Mallon
Over 411 members of the
W, D 11. S. Science Club went
to Malton on Saturday with Mr.
Pearson, in a school bus. Mr,
Wood and Mr. Anderson ac-
companied the boys,
When they arrived at the air-
port
irport they went to the observa-
tion tower and watched planes
landing and taking off.
A Viscount had been charter•
ed for a flight across Lake On-
tario. They viewed the Falls,
Niagara River, Welland Canal
and Brock's Monument from
the air, at about 2000 feet.
Visibility was hampered by
weather conditions when they
were over Toronto Harbour, but
they were able to see the large
lake vessels at the docks.
The plane was buzzed off
the field for another craft at
landing time, and had to circle
the city again.
Several boys visited the
pilot's cabin during flight and
the rest were able to see the
cabin and instruments after
landing.
The bus left Wingham about
9 a.m. and returned at 5:45
p.m.
A cardinal rule in film
handling is to avoid loading or
unloading cameras in direct
sunlight. Bright light can
cause fog or streaks along film
edges.

kneel and paddle, and the im-
portance of balance.

ented their patrols in canoe
races across the river. Troop

person in the canoe.
It took the Stag Patrol three
minutes, fifteen seconds, to
cross, the Wolf Patrol 3.45,
Buffaloes 3.13 and the Cougars

tion in electronics and asked
how many boys would be inter-
ested in forming a Ham Club to
pass tests for an electronics
badge. Several were interested
and a number of boys express-

Bryan Forsyth lowered the
flag to close the meeting.
