Rev. W. McClean Died Suddenly
Rev. Wallace McClean
died suddenly from a heart
seizure at Elmvale, about 20
miles north of Barrie, on Thurs-
day, April 25.
Mr. McClean had gone out
on Thursday to obtain some
special soil in which to plant
roses he had received from his
native Northern Ireland. Mr.
McClean suffered the fatal
seizure in his car before mov-
ing from the spot where he had
obtained the earth.
Mrs. McClean was at Pic -
ton, because of the serious
illness of her father. She be-
came alarmed on Friday when
she could not contact her hus-
band by phone.
He was born near Ballymena,
County Antrim, and had work-
ed in the city missions of the
BENNETT'S
Presbyterian Church as a lay
minister before coning to
Canada. He attended Knox
College in Toronto and was
ordained 29 years ago.
He served at Ailsa Craig
and Leamington before joining
the Royal Canadian Air Force
as a chaplain in 1942. After
the war he had served at Vic-
toria Harbor, Picton and Luck -
now, before going to Elmvale.
He leaves his wife, the for-
mer Evangeline Goss, and four
sisters and a brother in Belfast.
Rev. Mr. McClean earned
a deep affection during a min-
istry of over 5-1/2 years at
Lucknow and Dungannon. He
accepted the Elmvale charge
in Mardh of 1960, little more
than three years ago.

THE COLOUR PARTY representing some
54 branches from District "C" of the
Royal Canadian Legion was one of the
most impressive sights to have been seen
on Wingham's main street in some time.
The colour party headed a parade of
some 300 Legion members from the
area as they marched from the Armour-
ies to the Cenotaph for a brief noon
service.—A-T Photo.
