ICutfers Enjoy Seep Fortifed Towns Bergen N -H Holland Hi Folks, When we left Venice we took the autostrasse to Bulzane on the way to the Brenner Pass. I! The countryside changed con- : siderably. We were still in I Italy, but properous farms and beautiful orchards covered the countryside as the country be- t gen to roll we got back into grape country. This part of the country belonged to Austria at one time, hence the well-to- do looking country. We staved at Bulzane that night and did some shopping in • the morning. We walked through the market and a tre- mendous amount of meats, vegetables and dozens of kinds of cheese were on display. l Some of these cheeses looked l nice, but others looked pretty 1 dejected and the smell was worse than limburger: At the Brenner Pass we were stopped by the border patrol, BACKACHE When kidneys fail to remove excess acids and wastes, backache—tired feeling— disturbed rest often may follow. The weather as wonderful even up in t::_ mountains. One could walk a7..:nd in a foot of snow and sit in your shirt sleeves on t: e slopes. They were still skiing and many cars passed us, going higher into the mo.ntains. We had a look at the ski lift, turned around and went on our way. Swiss -like houses with little balconies, and villages and colourful) towns covered the hillsides. The following evening we came to Innsbruck in Austria. From 50 miles away, we could see the snow peaked mountains and finally we came over a fairly high mountain, and looking down on the valley, with the city of Innsbruck lying against a large mountain ridge covered with beautiful white as the sun went down. The following day Pat and I went for a ride on the Hafelhar. This trolley -like affair is pulled up the mountains and the first stop is at a beautiful mountain resort for skiers. From there one takes another ski lift to the slopes, miles up the mountains. We passed the border into Germany. Part of the time we drove along the Auto Bahn and other times through the country. In Germany we ran into the old fortified towns of Bueren, where in the 14th and 15th centuries each town had its own kingdom, as it were. These old towns are still intact with old walls and beautiful, well kept medieval architec- ture. We enjoyed these towns veru much. As we went on our way through Munchen (Munich), we ran out of the mountains into Three Fatalities During March Provincial Police District No. t, with headquarters at Mount Forest, reports three fatal accidents during the month of March, in which three persons lost their lives in highway accidents. Everybody was on the land, father, mother and all the kids. The farm build- ings all lay in groups here and they all go to work together. A lot use tractors but here and there you still see teams of oxen. If everybody works like that in Germany it isn't much wonder that they are a prosper- ous people And so we drove through the Valleys of the Rhine, back to Holland and stayed at Arnheim.
