Take Coins to
Reliable Dealers
There recently has been a
new and more or less wide-
spread interest in old coins.
Dealers' advertisements are ap-
pearing frequently in the news-
papers, offering tempting prices
for valuable items. Conse-
quently, even the boy who de-
livers the daily paper is care-
fully checking the coins he re-
ceives in the hope of corning
up with a bonanza.
Although there are very few
of the quite valuable specimens
left in circulation, and the
probability of finding one of
them is slim,. a word of caution
might be in order. If you have
In your possession, or it you
should receive a coin which
you believe may have unusual
value as a collector's item,
have it appraised by a reliable
dealer or specialist. Do not
accept the invitation extended
by some of the ads to send the
coin to the advertiser, who
may or may not be trustworthy.
Once it is out of your posses -
Sion, its positive identification
would be difficult, and you
could be the loser — at worst,
