Continuing, thouf;lt, what
really can be said about Judy?
She's the greatest performer
this century has seen, and can
make a hare stage and plain
dress look like a queen's posses-
sions. And she's lost a lot of
weight since last we saw her
(about 40 pounds, to be exact),
making her very svelte and
youthful -looking. In fact, she
looked about the same as she
looked nearly ten years ago in
her hit movie "A Star Is Born".
She will have a weekly series
next season on CBS, opposite
'Bonanza' on Sundays at 9. No
word from the CBC on whether
or not they will carry it, but
let's keep our fingers and eyes
crossed, eh?

Parade's welcome to spring
was well planned, for it came
on an evening when it was any-
thing but spring-like in our
"neck of the woods"! The
music was lonely, but I'm still
trying to figure out what con-
nection Shirley Harmer's open-
ing and closing songs had with
spring, even though she -did sing
them beautifully. And the bits
of conversation with Shirley and
Gordie Tapp were about as re-
hearsed as a summer rainstorm:
It was nice to see Gordie out of
the ranch -house for awhile, but
I've heard him sing much better.
.Actually, host Bill Walker
rather put him to shame in the
;Berlin medley from "Mr. Presi-
dent" . Their Kennedy imper-
sonations were novel and cute,
but even in the black wig,
'Shirley looked little like the
•First Lady. But I shouldn't be
complaining! The music was
gay and it was delight to see
the green grass ( my imagina-
tion told me it was green!)
and the flowers, even if they
were artificial:
