Complete Plans For Smorgasbord
FORDWICH--The general
meeting of the Fordwich United
Church Women was held in the
Sunday school rooms. Mrs.
William Wilson presided.
The theme of the meeting
was "These My Brethren", and
the roll call " Brotherhood" .
Mrs. Ken Graham offered
prayer for Hong Kong and its
refugee problem.
Mrs. Scott Clarkson reported
for the Evening Unit and Mrs.
Harold Wallace for the After-
noon LJnit. The World Day of
Prayer service is to be held
March 1st at 2:30 p.m. in the
Fordwich United Church. A

Mr. and Mrs. Don Gibson
and family of St. Catharines
were week -end visitors with
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Doig.
Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Lynn,
Judy and Karen of Orillia spent
the week -end with Mrs. Dora
Ridley.
Friends will be sorry to hear
film will be shown.
Plans were completed for
the smorgasbord supper to be
held in the church on March
15th at 5:30.
The Bible study from "The
Word and The Way", was
given by Mrs. Wray Cooper,
assisted by Mrs. Pearl Patterson
and Mrs. Harold Wallace.
A film on citizenship "Find-
ing Your Place in the Church",
was shown by Mrs. Anson Rut -
tan.
that Mr, William McCann is
at present confined to Listowel
Hospital, having undergone
major surgery last week.
Miss Carol Loughran, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Les Lough-
ran, returned home Friday from
Palmerston Hospital where she
had been confined the past two
weeks, suffering from pneu-
monia.
Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Wil-
liamson and family of London
visited a few days last week
with the former's mother, Mrs.
Emma Williamson,
Miss Phyllis Wilson of Lon-
don visited over the week -end
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Wm, Wilson.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred McCann
spent one day last week in
Toronto, where they visited
with the latter's mother, Mrs.
Clarence Duncan, who is a
patient in Toronto General
hospital.
Mrs. William Dicicet return-
ed to her home here Saturday
following her recent operation
in St. Mary's Hospital, Kitch-
ener.
Miss Pauline Sothern of
Wingham spent the week -end
with her parents.
Mrs. William Marriner
spent several days last week
with her mother in Peterbor-
ough.
Miss Glenna Hibberd of
Waterloo spent the week -end
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Hibberd.
Friends of Mrs. Melpha
Holland will be sorry to learn
she was confined last week to
Palmerston Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Royden De-
vitt spent one day last week
with relatives in Kitchener.
If success made the heart

On Monday
WHITECHURCH--Mr. and
Mrs. George Coultes of East
Wawanosh will, on Friday,
February 22, quietly celebrate
the 58th anniversary of their
marriage at their home. Their
family of three sons, and one
daughter, sixteen grand -child-
ren and seven great grandchild-
ren all live in this district.
Both are well and Mrs.
Coultes is also celebrating her
80th birthday on her wedding
day. Their many, many
friends in this community ex-
tend best wishes to this pioneer
couple for many more happy
returns of the day.

COMMERCIAL LEAGUE
For the first time this 62-63
bowling season, there were no
spares. Looks like everyone is
trophy -hungry! Congratula-
tions to Hilda Stainton, who
celebrated a birthday today.
I have been keeping my eye
on the little guy with the brush -
cut, and he is coming up with
some very good scores. One of
these days, I will be able to
name him as taking either the
high single or triple. (Now,
don't let me down, boy!)
The high single this week
was taken by Anne Geddes with
286, as well as the high triple
with 617. Nice going, Anne!
Congratulations to Harold Wild
(who is on our team) who came
up with an excellent high
single of 345. Unfortunately,
Harold got off to a bad start,
and was unable to take the high
triple, which was instead taken
by Jim Bain with a 678. Nice
scores, what? Now, only four
to go!!!!!
