BELGRAVE--The annual
vestry meeting of TrinityAngli,.
can. Church, was held in the
flelgrave Orange Hall with a
very good attendance. The
rector opened with prayers.
In his report Rev. Meally
reveiwed the progress of the
church during the past year.
There were 52 services held,
four private celebrations of the
Holy Communion to the shut-
ins, six young people received
full membership of the church
by the laying on of hands in the
rite of confirmation, A good
healthy sign was that the mis-
sionary budget was up thisyear,
In continuing, the rector
said, turning to what we might
call the material side, many
gifts have been donated during
the past year. The interior of
the church was painted. New
stove pipes, new red carpet
from the entrance to the alter,
new curtains for the church and
choir vestry and new vestry
table were donated. Such
gifts have indeed made the
church beautiful. He thanked
all the members of the congre-
gation for the work they had
done, and for the spirit of

BELGRAVE—The Belgrave
Hi -C. Group held a skating
party in the Community Centre
on Saturday evening and had as
their guests groups from Wing-
ham, Whitechurch, and Au-
burn.
After skating the 42 young
people went to the United
Church basement which had
been decorated with a Valen-
tine motif, and games were
played. Lunch of soup, crack-
ers, and tarts was enjoyed. At
the midnight hour a worship
service, conducted by Marie
Coultes and Max Pletch closed
the evening.

At the conclusion of the
election of officers a discussion
was held at the request of Synod
"Whether women should be ad*
mitted to Synod". The vote
showed that it was the wish of
the vestry that women be ad*
'ratted to Synod. The meeting
closed with prayer and a pot*
luck supper served by the ladies,
Mrs. Armstrong
Is Guild Hostess
BELGRAVE--The Ladies'
Guild of Trinity Anglican
Church, met on Thursday at
the home of Mrs. Dave Arm-
strong. The president, Mrs,
Alex Nethery opened with hymn
"Rest of the Weary" followed
by prayer and the Lord's prayer
in unison. The Scripture was
read by Mrs, Mel Bradburn.
Minutes of the last meeting
were read by Mrs. Richard Proc-
ter and Mrs, Cooper Nethery
gave the treasurer's report.
Plans were made for catering to
the Credit Union banquet on
February 12.
Mrs. Mel Bradburn was con-
vener of the program. Mrs.
Clare VanCamp read a poem
called, "Take Home a Smile"
and a paper was read by Mrs.
Mel Bradburn, "The Roads He
Travelled", Roll call was
answered by "A church season
and the correct colour". The
meeting closed with prayer.
Grace was sung and lunch served
by the hostess.

BELGRAVE--Mrs, Q, G, An-
derson was hostess for the regu-
lar meeting of the Presbyterian
W.M.S. held on Tuesday. Mrs,
Garner Nicholson was in charge
of the meeting and opened
with Hymn "Wonderful Words
of Life", Scripture and medi-
tation were taken by Mrs. Cliff
Purdon and Mrs, 0, G. Ander-
son had the Glad Tidings prayer:
The Topic "Korea and
Koreans in Japan" was taken
by Mrs. Ed. Wightman and
Mrs. Stewart Cloakey. Mrs.
Ed, Wightman conducted the
business. Minutes were read
by Mrs. 0, G. Anderson and
Mrs, Victor Youngblut gave
the treasurer's report. The
roll call was answered with a

Mr. and Mrs. James Doug-
las of Mitchell and Mr. Mal-
colm Douglas of London were
recent visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. John Cameron,
Mr, and Mrs. J. R. Law-
rence of Islington were week-
end visitors with Mr. and Mrs,
Harvey Webb.
Mr, and Mrs. Roy Hawley
and Leslie Ann of Oshawa were
week -end visitors with her
parents Mr. and Mrs. Lome
Woods.
Mr. Wallace Miller and
Mrs. Harvey Carrick are pa-
tients in Wingham Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Nich-
olson Kathy, Randy and Cheryl
of Holstein were Sunday visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. Don Camer-
on.

Messengers M
BELGRAVE--The Messengers
met for their regular meeting in
the basement of the church Sun-
day morning during the regular
hour of worship. The meeting
opened with hymn "This Is Our
Father's World.
Joan Bosman read the min-
utes and Mary Grasby gave the
treasurer's report. Mrs. Mc -
Sween collected the member-
ship fees. The roll call was
answered by 20 members.

worship by Mrs. McSween was
followed by a hymn. Donald
Vincent read the Scripture
lesson. George Johnston and
Gary McSween received the
offering and Mrs. McSween
continued the study of the book
"Tiger Tail Village". The
World Friends were distributed.

To Clifford Kelly
BELGRAVE—The Afternoon
Unit of the Belgrave United
Church Women met at the
church on Wednesday. The
meeting was opened by the
leader, Mrs. Stewart Procter,
with hymn and prayer. The
secretary's report was given by
.Mrs. Jesse Wheeler and Mrs.
Ross Robinson read the treasur-
er's report. Members were re-
minded of the Presbyterial to
be held in Goderich on March
21, to which the Unit would
appoint two delegates.
Mrs. Walter Scott reported
that the Calvin -Brick ladies
would participate in the alloca-
tion to Westminster Building
Fund, to furnish a sitting -room
as a memorial to Clifford Kelly.
Routine procedure followed;
including roll call and offering.
Mrs. Walter Scott then conduct-
ed the devotional meeting in
which Mrs. James Michie read
from the study book the chapter,
entitled "The Church Fervent
but Divided". This was a con-
tinuation of the study of Korea,
and was followed by a discus-
sion period. Mrs. Walter
Scott took the Bible study, en-
titled "God, a Living God and
Personal God". Mrs. Ross
Robinson took part by reading
Scripture passages from the
Bible, A question and answer
period followed and discussion.
Crokinole Party
BELGRAVE--The United
Church Sunday School spon-
sored a crokinole party in the
church basement on Friday eve-
ning with 10 tables in play.
Low prizes were won by Nancy
Anderson, Richard Anderson;
high prizes, Mary Grasby,
Mark Armstrong,
Proceeds to go to the Sun-
day School. Lunch ofsand-
wiches, coffee and tarts was
served.
"Verse on Love". There were
eleven members present and
12 visits to the sick and shut-
in were recorded.
A discussion followed on the
World Day of Prayer to be held
in the Presbyterian Church this
year, Mrs. Joe Dunbar and
Mrs. Cliff Purdon were named
a committee to see about a
speaker and also were named
to attend the meeting. Mrs.
J. McBurney and Mrs. W.
Morrison are to take the prayer
for the day.
Mrs. Youngblut led in pray-
er and hymn "Breathe on Me
Breath of God" was sung. The
closing prayer was taken by
Mrs. Garner Nicholson. Lunch
was served by the hostess.
