Two New Members On Area Board
J. H. Kinkead chaired the
inaugural meeting of the Turn -
berry Township School Area
Board held in the Central
School on Thursday, January
10th. Mr. Kinkead welcomed
the two new members, James
Johnston and Roy Wormington
and also paid tribute to the
work done by Ken Zinn and
Bert Holmes, who retired. He
also reviewed the work and
problems of the different
schools.
Wormington -Haugh: That
Eldon Kirton be chairman for
1963.
Wormington -Norman; That
the secretary -treasurer be re-
engaged at the same salary of
$600.00.
Haugh -Wormington: That
the minutes of the previous
meeting be adopted as read.
Norman -Wormington: That
Gordon Wray be attendance
officer for 1963 at same salary
of $75.00.
Haugh -Wormington: That
secretary -treasurer be authoriz-
ed to pay teachers, transporta-
tion, caretakers as per contracts.

the chairman and secretary -
treasurer be authorized to sign
at the bank.
Wormington -Johnston: That
the supply teacher be paid at
the rate of $17.50 per day and
that Mrs. J. C. Johnston be
supply teacher.
The board decided to visit
the schools some time in the
near future. Jack Hoods sug-
gested meeting the teachers
and board on March 21st re
supplies.
Norman -Haugh: That the
secretary -treasurer order the
Municipal World and join the
Ontario Trustees' and Rate-
payers' Association.
Haugh -Wormington: That
the following bills be paid.
Teachers salaries, transpor-
tation, caretaker, treats for
No. 4, $13.20; treats for No.
2, $5.50; Pattison Radio, $5,98.

Converts Hall
BLUEVALE-William McNall,
formerly of Belgrave, has
bought the hall, once the pro-
perty of the Bluevale L. 0.L. ,
and is making it into a dwell-
ing for his own use. The build-
ing has not been in use for
many years,
Choir Holds
1963 Elections
BLUEVALE--The choir mem-
bers of Bluevale United Church
enjoyed a social evening at the
home of Rev, A. C. Mitchell
and Mrs. Nlitchell on January
17th. The annual meeting of
the choir was held with the ap-
pointment of the following of-
ficers for 1063:

On Appointment
FORDWICH-The annual
vestry meeting of Trinity An-
glican Church was held Friday
night in the Sunday school
rooms, after a delicious pot
luck supper. Rev. Anderson
was chairman and opened the
meeting with Bible reading.
John Gamble was appointed
vestry clerk and read the min-
utes of last year's meeting and
several board meetings held

during the year. Reports of all
the organizations were given,
showing a very successful year
for all groups. A motion was
made to send Archbishop O'-
Neil of Fredericton a letter of
congratulation on his new ap-
pointment.
Rev. Anderson expressed his
appreciation to the Fordwich
congregation.
Officers for 1963 are as fol-
lows: rector's warden, Patrick
Daunt; people's warden, Hec-
tor Browne; rector's board of
management, Stan Forester,
Garn King, John Gamble, Jack
Douglas, Wellington Hargrave
and Mrs. Wm. Sothern; peo-
ple's board, Wm. Sothern,
Emmerson Ferguson, Don King,
Doug Bunker, Robt. Allan and
Mrs. Ruby Forester; secretary -
treasurer, Mrs. Peter Browne.

Gary Sothern, Kenneth Ander-

Rev. Anderson closed the
meeting with prayer.
Name Leaders
In 4-H Project
FORDWICH--The Fordwich
W.I. met in the Community
Hall on January 15th. Mrs.
John Craig, the president, was
in the chair.
Devotions were taken by
Mrs. Wellington Hargrave.
The motto, "Keep Healthy,
Keep Happy and Keep Help-
ing", was given by Mrs. J.
Winkel. The roll call was
answered by "A health rule I
would give to a child."
The guest speaker was Dr.
Ross, Goderich, convener of
Cancer Societies in the county
and Miss Kennedy, public
health nurse, Clinton. Dr.
Ross showed a film on cancer
and gave a talk on cancer in
general, the importance of
early diagnosis and treatment
and answered questions.
Mrs. Fred McCann intro-
duced the speakers, and they
were thanked by Mrs. J. Win-
kel.
The committee looking
after the euchre party was,
Minnie McElwain, Mrs. Clare
Harris and Mrs. A. Demerling.
Leaders for the 4-H Girls home-
making project, "Being Well
Dressed and Well Groomed",
will be Mrs. George Richards
and Mrs. Scott Clarkson.
Hold Shower
FORDWICH-Mrs. Jini Pat-
terson was hostess on Saturday
night at the home of Mrs.
Pearl Patterson, for a shower in
honor of Miss Lynn Matteram,
whose marriage to Mr. Jack
Foster takes place next month.
The bride-to-be was pre-
sented with an all steel adjust-
able ironing board and cover,
Contests were enjoyed during
the evening and a delicious
lunch served.
Bluevale Personals
Recent visitors in the com-
munity were Mr. and Mrs.
Bruce Webb and children, of
Painswick with Mr. and Mrs.
C. B. Hoffman and Mr. and
Mrs. Roy King, of Toronto,
with W. J. Peacock and fam-
ily and other relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Smith
spent Sunday in Kitchener.
Mr. and Mrs. R. J. McMur-
ray and Gordon spent the week-
end at Stratford.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Gromin-
sky and daughter, Rhonda, of
Galt were week -end visitors
with her sister, Mr. and Mrs,
Henry Reljerink of R. R. 1 Blue -
vale.

Mrs, Norman Coultes and Mr,
and Mrs, Jas. Coultes spon-
sored the euchre in S, S, No.
0 East Wawanosh on Fridayeve-
ning, when sixteen tables
were in play.
Mrs. John L. Currie and Mr.
Albert Hall held high points,
and Mrs. Roy Dawson and John
Sproal held low points. The
travelling prizes went to Miss
Mary Taylor and Elmer Bruce.
Mr. and Mrs, Elmer Ireland
and Mr, and Mrs. E. E. Walk-
er will sponsor the next party
in two weeks.
