HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION
The annual meeting of the
Wingham General Hospital As-
sociation will be held on Friday,
February 1st, 1963, at 8 p.m., in
the Recreation Room of the
Nurses' Residence at Wingham.
All matters of business pertain-
ing to the Wingham General
Hospital Association will be
transacted including the election
of directors and other officers.
In order to cast a ballot in the
election of directors a person
must be a member of the Associ-
ation. One - year memberships
may be obtained for the sum of
one dollar from the Wingham
General Hospital office. These
memberships must he purchased
at least ten days prior to the
annual meeting.

Euchre Club
Honors Couple
A reception was held recent
ly for Mr. and Mrs. Melville
Mathers, 2nd line of Morris, on
the occasion of their 25th wed-
ding anniversary.
Twelve tables of progres-
sive euchre were played and at
a suitable time they were pre-
sented with a pole lamp and a
foot stool by the 2nd line euchre
club. The address was read by
Mrs. R. J. McMurray and Mrs.
Charlie Bosman and Mr. Mc-
Murray presented the gifts.
The euchre prizes were won
by Mrs. Charlie Mathers, Mrs.
Jim Elston, Ross Mann and Wal-
lace Agar. A dainty lunch was
served including wedding cake.
Huron Seed Fair
Set for Wingham
The annual seed fair, which
is sponsored by the Huron Coun-
ty Crop Improvement Associa-
tion will be held in the Wing -
ham District High School on
Friday and Saturday, March
8th and 9th of this year accord-
ing to information received
from Richard Procter, a past
president of the organization.
On Friday evening, March
8th, the school will also be
the setting for the annual Hur-
on County Junior Farmers'
Drama Festival, an event
which is followed with keen
interest by rural people through-
out the entire county.
Anson McKinley of Zurich
is the president of the Crop
Improvement Association. The
major events in connection
with the seed fair will be held
on the Saturday, when exhibits
will be on display and the pub-
lic will be invited to attend.
The Advance -Times will
provide further details about
this very interesting event as
soon as the program has been
completed.

For the benefit of the new
members to the board, Princi-
pal F. E. Madill explained
the building program, and the
vocational advisory committee
This committee, he pointed
out, was set up under the Sec-
ondary Schools Act, and is
actually responsible for the
building and operation of the
new vocational addition to the
.school. This committee makes
recommendations to the board
in connection with the build-
ing and the educational pro-
gram.
APPOINTMENTS
The board also approved the
re -appointment of Miss Y. Mc-
Pherson as secretary -treasurer.
She received an honorarium
for the extra work entailed last
year in connection with the
building program, and a small
increase in salary. The cafe-
teria staff was re -hired, as well
as Elmer Walker, the care-
taker, both with salary increa-
ses. Mrs. Miller Davis and
Mrs. K. Leitch were also re-
hired as administrative staff,
also at slighter higher salaries.
James Miller was re -appointed
truant officer for the year.
The secretary read a letter
of approval for the construction
of a new library and renovation
of the existing library for ad-
ministrative purposes. Plannin
for this was included in the
origional sketch plans but was
included in tenders as an alter-
nate project. The change will
include another classroom be-
cause one was lost in the
changes, and will cost an es-
timated $28, 000, with a
$5, 000 allowance for library
equipment.
Roy Cousins told the board
that with the completion of
the new wing to the school, it
will be necessary to have some-
one on staff with fourth-class
engineering papers to handle
the boilers. He was happy to
report that the caretaker, Mr.
Walker, is at present studying
for his engineer's papers.
Before adjourning the board
approved the recommendation
of the Vocational Advisory Co
mittee for the purchase of
classroom furniture for the new
wing, at a cost of $14,033.85.
