Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Mein - nes spent a few days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elgin McInnes, at Dumbarton. Mr. and Mrs. Justin Will visited over the week -end with relatives at Kingsville. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Koch spent Christmas Day with Mrs. Velma Weber and family of Walkerton. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Halliday, Kitchener, Mr. and Mrs. Ar- nold Halliday, Wingham, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Loutitt and family visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Harris. Mr. and Mrs, Wm. Young People Conduct Service GORRIE-About 25 members of the Molesworth Young Peo- ple's Society formed the choir and presented their Christmas service in the Gorrie Presbyter- ian Church on Sunday. Rev. J. S. Stewart gave the address. Judge Houses GORRIE-The outdoor home lighting contest, sponsored by the Gorrie Businessmen's Asso- ciation, awarded first prize of $10.00 to Mr. Harvey Sparling. Hector Hamilton won the $5,00 second prize and Alexander Edgar won the $3.00 third prize. Mr. and Mrs, Gordon Jack- son, Listowel, were the judges. The first and second prizes were chosen for their religious aspect to Christmas. Special Service Sunday Morning GORRIE-The Sunday School children of the Gorrie United Church presented their Christ- mas service on Sunday morn- ing. The children formed the processional, singing "There's a song in the Air". Scripture was recited by Donald Galbraith, Lynda John- ston, Janice Elschner, Michael Grainger, interspersed with carol singing. The junior choir sang the anthem, "Christ- mas Lullaby". The junior girls of the choir sang, "Away in a Manger" and "We Three Kings of the Orient Are", was sung by the boys of the choir. Dale Simpson read Scripture. Rev, P. W. Taylor gave the address, speaking on" The Word and the Way". Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hurst and Paul, Mr. anu Mrs. Chas. Kaiser, Bob and Gary and Miss Muriel Herrington all of Col- lingwood, Mr, and Mrs. Edgar Warner and Diane of Hamilton, Mr. Glen Numbers, Regina, Sask., were Christmas guests of Mr. and Mrs, Thos. Warner. The January meeting of the Gorrie Women's Institute will, be held at the home of Mrs. John Saylor on January 8, (note change of date). Guest speak- er, Mrs, Chas, Schaefer; roll call, A penny for every inch of your waistline, Donations to Bible Society GORRIE-The Gorrie Branch of the Canadian Bible Society reports that total contributions for 1962 were $206.00, which is an increase over last year. The local committee would like to express appreciation to canvassers and donors for their help in making possible this donation to the Bible Society, which is of first importance in mission work. Girls Take Part At Carol Service GORRIE--A service of carol singing was held in St. Stephen's Anglican Church on Sunday morning with Rev, George A, Anderson in charge. The Scrip- ture lesson, bearing on the Nativity, was read by six girls, Joan Anderson, Glanyse Steur- nol, Judy King, Merna Nuhn, Dawna Bennett and Geraldine May. Mr. Ronald Dickert son of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Dickert who was recently transferred to the Bank of Commerce, Kitch- ener, was presented with a travelling alarm clock as a farewell gift from his fellow employees. KRELLER-On Christmas Day, December 25th, at Wing - ham General Hospital, to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kreller, Howick Township, twin daughters. Christmas Party At Sunday School Intended for last week. GORRIE--The annual Christ- mas concert of St. Stephen's Sunday School was held in the church basement on Wednesday evening, December 19th with a fine attendance. A program of songs, carols, recitations and piano solos was provided by the children under direction of Mrs. Leonard Sanderson. Ronald and Roland Bennett gave violin and guitar select- ions. Judy King, Bonnie Elliot; Joan Anderson and Geraldine May presented a short play "Yassah." They also sang to- gether. Santa arrived and gifts were distributed. Later lunch was served and a social time enjoyed. Is Unit Leader slate of officers for 1963 is as follows: Leader, Mrs. Lyle Watson; assistant leader, Mrs. Wm. Behrns; secretary, Mrs. T. L.
