retail dealer, Woodstock,
• Doug Haldane, a beef producer
from Moonbeam,
• Lloyd Kellogg, a dairy farmer from
Port Hope,
• Bob Laning, a farm implements
distributor from Waterford, and
• Carole Prevost -Gratton, a dairy
farmer from St. Albert.
In the near future, the board will be
registering dealers and distributors of
farm implements in addition to super-
vising safety measures. It will also
mediate in disputes between purchasers
and dealers or distributors.
Also regulated under the Farm Im-
plements Act, which created the board,
are minimum terms of warranty con-
tracts for sale and purchase of new and
used implements, the availability of
repair parts, a procedure for the return or
replacement of defective equipment,
and the re -purchase of a dealer's unused
inventory of farm implements and re-
pair parts by the distributor who sup-
plied them when a distributor -dealer
agreement is terminated.0
APPOINTMENTS
Charles Broadwell, general man-
ager of the Ontario Bean Producers
Marketing Board, was elected president
of the International Pulse Trade and
Industry Confederation at the confed-
eration's conference held in Rome, Italy
Last month.
Brian Miller has been appointed
farm management specialist for the
Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and
Food office in Stratford. He succeeds
Dael Bierworth, now agricultural repre-
sentative in Lanark County.
Keith Reid has become the first soil
conservation advisor to be stationed at
the Walkerton OMAF office, Bruce
County. He will be offering general
advice on conservation farming and
assisting farmers with soil erosion and
compaction problems.0
