JD INTRODUCES
ALL -TILL DRILL
John Deere's new 750 all -till drill
seeds small grains, forages, and leg-
umes into various soil conditions —
conventional, conservation, and no -till.
The furrow openers, mounted at a 7 -
degree angle on two rockshafts, provide
48.5 -inch fore -aft clearance for residue
flow and allow penetration into seed-
beds with minimal soil disturbance. The
front rank can be locked in the up posi-
tion to allow the 7.5 -inch spaced model
to seed on 15 -inch centres and the 10 -
inch model to seed on 20 -inch centres.
A single 18 -inch flat opener disk
follows the soil profile for consistent
penetration. Down pressure, with a
range of 225 to 450 pounds to match
ground conditions, can be adjusted hy-
draulically from one location.
Seed is metered by fluted feed cups
which use a shifter to adjust the flow
rate. The cups allow the seed gate to flex
and pass foreign objects. Fertilizer is
metered by removable urethane feed
rolls. The rate is controlled by a gear box
with 42 settings.
The 750 all -till drill is available in
10 -foot or 15 -foot working widths.
Eight inches of transport clearance re-
duce problems on crowned roads.°
