early results were published. We beat
them all in every respect. We're quite
proud of that," he adds.
The two University of Guelph re-
searchers have received more than
$560,000 since 1977 for their work. The
Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and
Food provided $174,000 and the federal
government $216,000. Langford, with
support from the National Research
Council's Program for Industry/Labo-
ratory Projects in Biotechnology, pro-
vided $172,000.0

APPOINTED TO ARIO
Dr. Stanley Leuty of Mcaford is
among three new members appointed to
the 15 -member Agricultural Research
Institute of Ontario.
Dr. Leuty, an orchard grower, is a
former director of the Horticultural Re-
search Institute and was also a research
scientist with Agriculture Canada.

CORRECTION: Last month, the me-
dallions offered by the 1988 Interna-
tional Plowing Match promotional
committee were incorrectly identi-
fied and priced. 15,000 nickel -
bonded steel medallions are selling at
$1 each; 51 fine silver souvenir me-
dallions have also been struck ($30).
