bricking the front. "Basically there
was only cosmetic work for us to do."
The design of the station is rustic
and wonderfully charming. None of
the rooms were built on the same
level, which creates a very unique
look to the interior plan. Not Targe,
every square foot is used to its best
advantage. The one time baggage
room is now a cozy parlour, where
guests can relax with a book, curl up
and watch television or socialize with
others. Once, the windows of the
room were at ground level, but that
part of the house has been jacked up
and the floor concreted.
The former waiting area is now
used as the dining room for bed and
breakfast guests. Located at the front
of the building its circular shape
under a conical roof is the focal point
of the building's exterior. Inside, the
room is a beautiful example of the
craftmanship of the time, encased as it
is in richly -coloured wood, from
floor to ceiling. It is warm and classic,
a look that could not be duplicated
today, without considerable cost and

Blyth Station House is still serving a useful purpose after all these years. The
toric structure has been restored as a bed and breakfast.
