SECURITY
PLAN
Once again, The Co-operators is responding to the needs of Ontario farmers
to ensure the financial well being of the farm family. Our protection
program now covers tenant and sharecropper farmers.
Our FARM SECURITY PLAN is a total protection package of Disability
Income and Life Insurance benefits offered at group rates. The plan is
endorsed and sponsored by the Ontario Federation of Agriculture.
The Plan now provides:
Disability Income
This option is available to the farmer who:
• carries the minimum basic Life Insurance
coverage ($25,000.)
• is under the age of 65 years
• is actively farming and earns 70% of their
income from the farm
It can mean the difference between security
or economic hardship for your family.
Should you become totally disabled and in
need of continuous medical care as the result
of accident or sickness, this plan provides
$400., $600., $800., $1,000., $1,200., or
$1,500., monthly, depending on your
coverage. These benefits are non-taxable if
premiums are paid by the individual
receiving benefits.
Income protection is an invaluable
supplement to benefits received under the
Canada Pension Plan or Workers'
Compensation Act. With a variety of
coverage levels available, you select the
amounts to protect your family's security.
Basic Life Insurance
With the basic policy, you have the choice of
life insurance coverage in the amount of:
• $25,000. • $50,000. • $100,000.
• $150,000. • $200,000. • $250,000.
• $300,000. • $10,000. (spouse only)
• $3,000. coverage on dependent children is
available
• Accidental Death Benefit is included in
the basic premium. This provides double
the amount of selected life coverage in the
event of death from accidental cause.
• Accidental Dismemberment benefit
coverage is also included with no separate
premium required.
• Spouse may also apply for equal or lower
coverage amount ($10,000. minimum).
Rates are reasonable: For example, a
33 -year-old male, non-smoker receives the
maximum $300,000., life insurance coverage
for a monthly investment of $53.76.
Disability income protection at the
maximum level of $1,500., a month is
available for $25.94 monthly premium and
provides up to a full five years of disability
income. Age limit is 65 years.
