QUEENS OF THE
FURROW CHOSEN
Audrey Bos of Auburn (left) became
the new Huron County Queen of the
Furrow at the plowing match held last
month on Minister of Agriculture Jack
Riddell's farm near Exeter. Sandra Hunt
of Seaforth, middle, relinquished her
crown, and Jane Anderson of Lon-
desboro (right) was runner-up. The
event, which attracted seven contest-
ants, was organized by Marie McGavin
of Walton.
In Bruce County, Teresa Schuler of
R. R. 4, Kincardine is the new Queen of
the Furrow.
In Grey County, there are five new
queens, one for each plowing associa-
tion: Marie Krauter of R. R. 2, Elmwood
(Bentinck), Mary -Lou McCutcheon of R.
R. 8, Owen Sound (North Grey), Evelyn
Thomas of R. R. 1, Holstein (Egremont),
Joan Hershey of R. R. 4, Mouth Forest
(Normanby), and Gage Baker of R. R. 5,
Flesherton (Centre Grey).
The Perth County Queen of the
Furrow will be chosen October 15.
Nancy Johnston of R. R. 4, Listowel now
holds the title.
