WHAT'S NEW?
KIDD DESIGNS
NEW EQUIPMENT
Big Bale Chopper from Kidd.
As a development of its family of
straw chopping and spreading equip-
ment, Kidd Machinery has designed a
Big Bale Chopper which meets the
demand for a unit capable of handling
large round straw and hay bales.
The 6'2" (1.9 m) tub of the Big
Bale Chopper caters to most of the
Large bales produced by the various
round balers on the market. It will
also take up to about 12 conventional
bales.
Expeller chutes are controlled in
the tractor cab to provide discharge to
either side or both sides at once.
Deflector flaps may be adjusted to suit
the throw to individual requirements
and building layout. The machine will
blow material up to 30' either side.
The Big Bale Chopper is equipped
with wheels for weight transfer and is
mounted on the tractors three-point
linkage. The overall width is only 6'7
1/2" (2.03 m). A 50 hp (37 kw)
tractor will handle this machine easily.
Also available from Kidd is a
modified version of the Double Chop
forage harvester. The 346 Double
Chop has a longer drawbar to increase
the machine's offset angle and to ease
transport through narrow lanes and
gateways.
A new inclined chute increases
crop flow to the trailer and reduces the
risk of blockage. Chute and canopy
controls are available in manual,
hydraulic, or electric form.
The machine has a cutting width of
5' (1.5 m). The secondary chopping
flywheel can be equipped with 3, 4, or
6 blades.
The 346 has new side guards and
panels as well as a built-in tool box.0
