Challenge '87 is the federal gov- ernment's program to encourage all sec- tors of the economy to create summer jobs for students. The main compon- ent of the program, called the Summer Employment/Experience Development (SEED), makes available $127 million in wage subsidies to private, public, and non-profit organizations. SEED will continue to emphasize work experience related to students' fields of study and career goals.
