Local OMAF farm management
specialists in each of the three areas
presented results from a province -wide
beef production survey. Farmers will
be able to use this information to com-
pare their own performance with that
of other producers.
The last topic on the agenda was
stress, and Eloise Calhoun of Chesley
talked about recognizing stress and
how to handle it. "The most impor-
tant step is first admitting stress does
exist. Stress is not an enemy but your
ally, if properly managed," she said.0

SEED DEADLINE

The application deadline for the
SEED component of Challenge '87 is
March 6, 1987.
Challenge '87 is the federal gov-
ernment's program to encourage all sec-
tors of the economy to create summer
jobs for students. The main compon-
ent of the program, called the Summer
Employment/Experience Development
(SEED), makes available $127 million
in wage subsidies to private, public,
and non-profit organizations. SEED
will continue to emphasize work
experience related to students' fields of
study and career goals.

SHEEP SYMPOSIUM
TO BE HELD IN MARCH
All aspects of lamb production
will be discussed at a Sheep Pro-
duction Symposium at the University
of Guelph on March 20 and 21.
On the agenda are five topics:

the Most of Reproductive Technology,
Management from Conception to Mar-
ket, and Economics of Market Alter-
natives.
The program is designed with the
large commercial lamb producer in
