"GET UP AND GET
GOING"
"Get up and get going" was the
theme of the recent directors' meeting
jointly sponsored by the Huron and
Perth Federations of Agriculture.
Speakers for the workshops, held
in St. Columban, included Richard
Hamilton from the Ontario Ministry
of Agriculture and Food, Jim Fitz-
gerald, press -secretary to Jack Riddell,
Bob Leslie from the Ontario Feder-
ation of Agriculture, Bill Weaver from
the Kent Federation of Agriculture, and
Sheila Gunby, publisher of The Rural
Voice.
Hamilton's main theme was rural
leadership, and Fitzgerald discussed
parliamentary procedure and lobbying.
Leslie explained the OFA's township
and county structure to the new direc-
tors, and Weaver focused on how to
improve county federations. Gunby
put the directors on the spot by mak-
ing them write this report.
More than 30 directors took part in
the all -day seminar.0
