Retired Huron Ag Rep given Federation
Award for outstanding service
Bob Humphries (right) accepts the Huron County Federation of Agriculture
Award for Outstanding Service to Agriculture from Federation past president
Henry Boot. The presentation was made at the Federation's annual meeting.
Bob Humphries went to the annual
meeting of the Huron County
Federation of Agriculture in Brussels,
October 7, with a job to do. He came
away with more than just a thank you
for a job well done.
Humphries, the former Ag Rep for
Huron County who retired late last
year, went to the meeting expecting to
act as moderator for the panel of six
farm leaders who were going to
discuss "Charting a Course for
Agriculture". When Federation Past
President Henry Boot announced his
name as winner of the 24th winner of
the award Humphries said it was a
total surprise. "I'm very humble that
you would honour one of your servants
instead of one of your peers," he said.
Humphries came to Huron County
in 1990, succeeding Don Pullen. A
1970 graduate of University of
Guelph, he served 29 years with

Thorndale. Runnerup was Susan
Fink of Brant County. Other
finalists include Erin McNaughton
of Huron: Amanda Rachar,
