were in danger of the same. Just as
we limped in our gate a neighbour
passed and gave us a big toot and a
wave. I gave him the finger. It's
okay, it was dark and I don't think he
saw it. It made me feel better though.
When we got to the wedding
reception and recounted our tale of
woe to our children we expected
sympathetic noises and offers of
money to buy more reliable wheels.
What we got was a lot of grinning
and remarks that at our age walking
was good for you and we could have
intimate time together. I felt a lot like
the high heels, minus the heels, that I
had to throw in the trash. As they
grinned and joked about our
horrendous experience we found that
neither one of us was amused.
Like I said, it all depends on who
is doing the chuckling, and take that
grin off your face!0
