The Rural Voice, 1998-03, Page 20markets are in a funk and it will take some important news to bring them back to life — or, at least back to price levels that we have become "accustomed" to. Historically, prices are relatively good, but with the steady increases we've seen in demand worldwide, prices "should" be higher. Once in a while, we need a reality check. Demand will not Grain Markets increase at a constant price every year just as stock prices or land prices will not strengthen every year without a break. My contention is that it will take a weather scare, or some other factor that will have an affect on production in North America, to make prices move higher.
