The Rural Voice, 1997-09, Page 5Lead story
Neighbours must have thought George Laithwaite
slightly crazy when he devoted tons of cement and
thousands of hours to creating concrete statues at
his Goderich-area farm during the first half of this
century. But years
later, the statues
are still visited by
curious tourists
and have been
featured in several
books and
numerous
newspaper and
magazine articles.
Kymm Franken
tells the stories of
the statues, and
their creator.
