SInce the town of Kincardine on the shores of beautiful Lake Huron depends on tourists in the summer season, the townsfolk create a welcoming atmosphere by greeting people on the streets and making them feel at home so that if this is their first visit to the town, it won't be their last. Hence, the motto — where you're a stranger only once. And there are plenty of reasons for people to visit Kincardine. Landmarks such as the Kincardine, and nearby Point Clark lighthouses provide unique attractions for tourists coming to the area. The water's edge offers the best scenery from north to south — Stoney Point Conservation Area with lakeside nature trails, and Lover's Lane lined with flowers wanders past the Kincardine beach pavilion, famous for its dance floor and Bluewater Summer Playhouse. The PUC Rock Garden is a favourite spot for photographers and Tiny Tot Park, for the children. There's the new Penetangore Path along the river, motor- and sail -boats in the harbour, and the Boardwalk on Station Beach.
