As the winter snows deepen and the season slows
down, farmers have more time to concentrate on
farm management. It's a time for meetings and
seminars and reading. The new year offers an
excellent
opportunity to
look around and
see what on your
farm needs to be
changed. Our
Profit$ section,
this month, looks
at management
issues, from
wills, to guarding
against increas-
ed feed costs, to
record keeping.

RURAL VOICE
THE MAGAZINE OF THE AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY
A new year, a new start. For some people, however, the
changes are more than in the calender. In 1996, Tony and
Joanne Los changed countries, moving from Holland to
Canada. They also built a new dairy operation from scratch,
erecting a new free stall barn, milking parlour, commodity
shed and bunker silo, all on a scale that brought hundreds of
dairy farmers to take a look during a November open house.
