OFA President visits Huron County
Henry Boot, HCFA vice-president, Steve Thompson, HCFA president, Tony
Morris, OFA president and Ken Kelly, OFA vice-president speak to members.
OFA President Tony Morris,
accompanied by OFA Vice -
President, Ken Kelly, attended the
Huron County Federation of
Agriculture Board of Directors
meeting on Monday, August 26.
Approximately 30 Directors were
present as well as a few commodity
board guests. After a short informal
meeting Tony and Ken answered
questions from the group which
proved to be very informative.
Tuesday morning several area
producers met for a breakfast meeting
Meetings scheduled to develop policy
for New County Plan
The Huron Federation is working with the County of Huron to ensure that
agricultural issues are properly dealt with in the New County Plan. To help
accomplish this, three meetings have been set up at different times and in
diffcrent locations. Farmers and non -farmers are invited to attend these
meetings to help develop policy for the New County Plan. Please plan to
attend one of the following meetings:
Thursday, October 3, 1996 at 8:00 p.m.
GODERICH TOWNSHIP COMMUNITY CENTRE
Monday, November 25, 1996 at 8:00 p.m.
HENSALL PUBLIC SCHOOL (tentative)

County Award for outstanding contribution in the field of Agriculture and to the community in the
county of Huron as well as provincially because

radio, with Murray Gaunt doing an
interview with Tony, was his next
stop. Following this Tony toured the
Brussels stockyards where he was
interviewed by BBS television.
The afternoon agenda began with
a "kitchen" meeting at the dairy farm
of Henry and Janet Boot of
Tuckersmith Township where several
local producers met to talk with
Tony. South Huron was next on the
agenda with a visit to Exeter Produce
and Storage Processing and Packing,
to Suntastic Ontario, the modern
hydroponic greenhouses in Usborne
Township and on to Nabisco Foods.
The day concluded with a family
type gathering of a corn roast and hot
dogs at Morrison Dam for OFA
families.0
