The Rural Voice, 1996-08, Page 17under the Rent Control Act in
obtaining rent abatements where
landlords have withdrawn services,
failed to make repairs to the rented
dwelling, or where the landlord has
taken improper rent increases. These
provisions will continue to apply in
the new legislation; therefore, farm
operators who are leasing residential
premises to tenants should ensure that
repairs are made in a timely manner
and that proper notice requirements
are observed when rent increases are
taken.

The government will be accepting
submissions from the public in
connection with the proposed policies
until August 30, 1996. It is expected
that the legislation will be drafted this
fall for implementation next spring.
The proposed legislation represents
a positive opportunity for landlords to
recover expenses associated with
operating and improving their rental
dwellings, negotiating market rents on
turnover of tenancies and, hopefully,
a more expeditious forum for
resolving disputes with tenants.0

Then check out the power that's behind theAGCO®Allis 8610.This highly
productive tractor has an incredible 103 PTO hp engine. And the optional
36 -forward and 36 -reverse transmission has speeds ranging from 0.3 to 18.3 mph.
But just because you've got a lot of power doesn't mean the 8610 is hard to operate.
• A forward/reverse shuttle lets you operate a loader with ease.
• The electrohydraulic Hi -Lo control lets you shift while you're working
with a full load.
• The Hi -Lo powershift transmission comes standard on the 2WD, or you
can opt to have it on the AWD tractor.
To give you lower cost and maintenance, the 8610 comes with a direct
air-cooled diesel engine.
• The upper engine block and cylinder heads are cooled by forced air,
while lower portions of cylinders are immersed in the crankcase where
circulating oil carries heat away. Pressurized oil jets continually spray the
underside of pistons for even more cooling.
• The AWD models feature a true centerline drive shaft for more
efficient power transfer and less maintenance.
As always, behind every AGCO Allis tractor lies a 4-year/4,000-hour warranty.
