AGRIFAIR
The organizers are always looking
for ways to improve the show. In its
third year in 1996 is the craft show.
It's organized by the Chesley
Kineues._ The crafts displays fill
every nook and cranny of the
building and provide variety for the
show, something for people to look
at if they're not interested in kicking
tires on machinery. There will be 25
craft exhibitors in the 1996 show.
The Agrifair is one of two farm -
oriented fundraising projccts
undertaken by the Chcsley Kinsmen.
Last spring, the club organized a new
idea in fundraising. They felt it
would be easier for farmers and
agribusiness to donate time,
equipment and inputs for a
community project than to make a
cash donation.
So on May 20, a crop of soybeans
was planted on 42 acres of land made
available by Harry Driedgcr. On
October 10 they harvested the crop
with a yield of 41 bushels per acre.
