Walton woman named Huron's
dairy educator
Eighteen year old Kim Baan has
been named Dairy Educator for
the Huron
County Milk
Committee for
1994-95.
"I love working
with kids," says
Baan, an interest
that will come in
handy in the next
year as she visits
over 20 schools
in the county to
talk to children
about milk and
the dairy
industry. The
R.R.3, Walton
woman, daughter of David and
Dianne Baan, has been working
part-time for a year at the Seaforth
Co-operative Child Care Centre
where she discovered many
children didn't know where milk
came from. "I was really surprised
to realize the children didn't know
for 1994-95
much about the dairy industry. I'd
like to teach them all about all the
work there is on
the farm and what
all happens to
milk before it
reaches their
table."
As well as
visiting schools
Baan will take part
in cheese displays
in grocery stores
and attend local
fairs. She'll also
be attending
Conestoga College
studying Early
Childhood
