younger children. The
Storybook Park has a
varied collection of
animals, such as a
petting "zoo" of
barnyard animals, to
the tigers and cougars
and other live animals.
Throughout the
Park, small models of
the children's favourite
stories such as the "Three Little
Pigs", and "The House that Jack
Built" are sprinkled along the
winding path, delighting the young
set. A small roller coaster and other
"older" rides are in the works for next
season, says owner Mike Greve.
Storybook Park is fully wheelchair
accessible. The activities continue at
the park from May 24 to
Thanksgiving weekend depending on
weather. Seasonal camping in the
adjacent campground is available for
the summer months. The picnic area
offers a great location for birthday
parties, school groups, church groups,
family reunions, and business groups.
A special group rate is available and
the small stage provides the
opportunity for live entertainment.
Strolling along the trail while the
kids run off that extra energy before
starting the trip home can be very
peaceful and healthy. Storybook
offers enough activity for an entire
day trip of its very own, so your
family will want to come back again
soon.
Owen Sound has many other
locations of interest to visit — too
many to possibly be mentioned, but
some other choices are the Marine
and Rail Museum, The Tom
Thomson Art Gallery, Inglis Falls
and the Grey-Sauble Conservation
Authority grounds, the Bruce Trail,
as well as other parks and recreation
facilities too numerous to mention.
To get in touch with our
agricultural heritage is so important.
Young people learn to value their
"today" by learning about their
"yesterdays". Visit Owen Sound and
surrounding area for a "day trip" and
have the experience of learning
together! 0
