Bruce Federation annual meeting held at Elmwood
The Brucc County Federation of
Agriculture Annual Meeting was
held on November 12, at the

The evening got under way with a

distinguished guests in attendance.
People were very interested in
hearing what our newly elected
federal MPs Ovid Jackson and Paul
Steckle had to say.
Gertie Blake, OFA Field

Award" in recognition for his
dedicated work to the Federation and

together all of the players in Bruce
and Grey counties so that a more co-
ordinated and co-operative effort can
be made to market all the products
produced in the two counties.
The guest speaker was Bob
Verdun, the editor of The Farm Gate.
Bob is a dynamic speaker who talked
at length about interest rates and how
they affect our daily lives.
Perhaps the highlight of the
evening was the presentation of the
"Award of Merit" to Jack Cumming.
Jack was Chairman of the local IPM
committee that made all of the
arrangements for the very successful
IPM. Jack's quiet leadership style
has made him popular with everyone
who has worked with him.
The election results are as
follows: President, Byron Monk;
First Vice -President, Jim Farrell;
Second Vice -President, Gerald
Poechman.
Retiring Culross Township
