Welfare assistance is available
through the County Social
Assistance for a period of up to six
months when winding down your
farming operation.
Murton Brock, of R.R. 1,
Centralia in Usborne Township, is
the Second Vice President of the
Huron County Federation of
Agriculture.
Along with his father Tom they
farm a fifth generation farm of a beef
feed lot, heifer buying and cash
cropping.
Murton attended Centralia col-
lege after Exeter High School and
has been farming since 1979. He
feels farming is rewarding because
you are your own boss. His involve-
ment with 4-H, as Chairman of the
Board of Stewards of Zion West
United Church, as a member of the
HCFA Waste and Environment
Management Committee as well as
his wife, Nancy and one child keep
Murton active. A concern of
Murton's is the dwindling share of
federal/provincial budget money for
farmers.0
