The Weaver family own the only V.
Wahns seat known to exist.
Many other cast iron items are
also collected: drill ends, tool boxes,
wrenches and other old tools, corn
planter box lids, etc. Many private
collections will be displayed at the
Spring Meet in Kilsyth, including a
display of steam whistles owned by
Brian Gamble of Chatsworth.
George Kuhl also collects John Deere
plows and 2 -cylinder tractors, some
of which will be displayed. Other
small farm implements such as plows
and fanning mills will be shown.
A highlight of the Seat Meet is a
display of painted seats with artistic
designs. "Some are quite beautiful!"
says Marion Weaver. "They are real
works of art!" There will be log -
sawing by Jim Sloan of Chesley and
rope -making by Ben Madill of
Mississauga. A consignment auction
will take place at 3 p.m., with

members being allowed to consign up
to four items each.
There will be plenty of activities
for the ladies, such as a cooking
demonstration by Joy Johnson; a
display called "Country Craft House"
by Eleanor Nelson with artificial and
silk flowers and crafts; and a display
of clothing by Clothes Call, a
Canadian -owned company with local
representative Diane Snyder.
Two local tours will also be
available to enjoy. The first tour will
be of the Log House belonging to the
Weaver family containing family
furniture and items from years gone
by. The second tour takes in a hand -
weaving fabrics studio, featuring
custom-made clothing from hand-
woven fabrics by Gladys Sinclair.
To commemorate the 20th year of
the CISCA, special souvenirs will be
available, such as hats, mugs, pins
and other items to mark the occasion.
A lunch booth will be open all day.
Activities start at 10 a.m. and go to 4
p.m. Admission is $2.00. There will
be Old Tyme music by the Laird
Family Band.

top-quality newsletters are sent to
members every year. Memberships
will be for sale at the Spring Meet.

main attraction, but there's something
