This course is for participants who are interested in starting a small business or
have just recently started one. Participants are introduced to the theoretical, legal
and practical concepts required to start a new business. Participants will develop
a business plan sufficient to satisfy both management and creditor needs.

Care and Health Essentials of Horses Hooves
This course includes two days of instruction and demonstration intended for
horse stable owners and managers, recreational riders and beginning trainers.
Features of this lecture and workshop program include a discussion of mobility
of the limb, detection of soundness and lameness in the leg, practice in trimming
the hoof and shoeing techniques.

Grain Markets
U.S. harvest completed and if prices
are going to make new lows, it will
happen soon. There are some pundits
who believe corn futures will drop to
$1.90/bu, but keep in mind that U.S.
producers have both a loan program
and a reserve program. Both of these
programs are triggered at certain prices
and in effect take corn off the market
in a similar manner to the corn advance
program in Ontario. It appears that
some corn would enter these programs
in the U.S. when futures prices get
down to about $2/bu and I feel that we
will test $2.
In Ontario, basis levels will depend
on how long harvest lasts. If harvest is
drawn out, basis levels should remain
relatively stable. If, on the other hand,
we have a short period of pressure and
need to go to export levels, the basis
would soften only slightly.
This appears to be the year when
the "safety" nets in Ontario need to
work to make up for weak prices and
lower than normal yields.0
