TAKE A CHANCE
WITH CROP
INSURANCE
I was reading the May issue with
my usual intensity, especially
Gisele's column. It is the first thing I
turn to.
Where has Gisele been? Has she
not heard of forage crop insurance
simulated yields etc.? You pay your
spring money and take your chances.
A gaggle of academics play with
their computers for a couple of
months, (you can't always get the
answer you want the first try) and
voila you may get a payout on a poor
crop or heaven forbid even on a good
crop. The odds are only slightly be-
hind Vegas.
Just think Gisele, you really
wouldn't have to ride those terrible
planes and eat all that fine food. Stay
home in the swamp and eat warmed
over hash after you've shoveled the
drive!
See you there kid.0

DON'T CHANGE
I'm not a farmer, but I read your
Rural Voice and wish more people
got a chance to read it and could see
by reading what the farmers are up
against.
You can't improve your paper,
just keep it coming!

P.S. (re: Disentanglement could
double rural taxes) So true — if rural
residents keep sleeping through the
issue, they may see their quality of
life greatly reduced.0
