WOOL PAYMENT SET
Federal Agriculture Minister Bill
McKnight announced a $754,000 wool
stabilization payment for the 1990 wool
clip.
Wool prices in Canada for the 1990
clip averaged 38.5 cents per pound,
compared with the previous five-year
average of 63 cents per pound. As a
result, a payment of 32 cents per pound
will be made to producers on a marketed
volume of 2.32 million pounds.
Under a government/industry part-
nership arrangement, federal stabiliza-
tion payments will be distributed
through the Canadian Sheep Federation.
Producers should forward their ap-
plications, along with bills of sale, be-
fore April 1, 1992, to: Canadian Sheep
Federation, 30 Tripp Cres., Nepean,
Ontario K2J 106.
Producers who marketed their clip
through Canadian Co-operative Wool
Growers Limited will be sent their re-
spective 1990 wool stabilization pay-
ment automatically on data forwarded
to the Canadian Sheep Federation.°
