CAN OF WORMS
The article you featured in the No-
vember issue of The Rural Voice on
worm farming was very interesting. I
might add, maybe of more interest to
me than the average reader, as I have
been dealing with some very disgrunt-
led ex -worm farmers at the Queen's
Bush Rural Ministries.
It appears there have been cases of
people losing all their investment,
which in some cases was their life sav-
ings, as well as all the ongoing opera-
ting costs involved in this venture.
Others related dismal stories detail-
ing how the worms failed to reproduce
as advertised, while others had their
stock wiped out by disease.
All in all, after some investigation
into this macer, I found more failures
in the worm business than successes.
Therefore, I would advise anyone
thinking of entering the worm busi-
ness to exercise extreme caution, and
engage in some extensive fact finding
before investing in this venture.

Federal and provincial ministers of

group consists of processor and consu-

lower prices at the farmgate in order to
be able to compete both locally and in
the export market.
Seven years ago, the milling and
baking industry were demanding re-
moval of the two price what system,
because they were losing business to
