at the University of Guelph demon-
strated an electronic probe widely used
in New Zealand to measure carcass
grade.

NEW BRUCE
AG OFFICE
After 34 years in cramped quarters,
the Bruce County Ontario Ministry of
Agriculture and Food office is enjoying
their new offices in Walkerton.
Now located in at 220 Trillium Court
on the western end of town, the new
offices were officially opened recently
by Ken Knox, Assistant Deputy Minis-
ter of Agriculture and Food. They
moved from 10 Jackson Street where
they had been located since 1956.0
OATI STAFF
APPOINTED
Brenda Watson has been hired as the
new program director for the Ontario
Agriculture Training Institute.
Established in 1989 by the Ontario
Federation of Agriculture in co-opera-
tion with public, private, and non-profit
sectors of the agricultural industry,
OATI offered 126 training courses dur-
ing its first year to 1,293 farmers from
across the province.
Watson, who was raised on a beef
farm in Dufferin County, is a graduate
from the University of Guelph where
she spent several years as program assis-
tant in the Continuing Education Divi-
sion.
Using hands-on training, OATI of-
fers courses to assist farmers to become
more efficient and effective.
"Her proven skills in program co-
ordination and her ability to work with
people will ensure Ontario farmers are
prepared to meet the challenges of a
rapidly changing industry," says execu-
tive director Carl Sulliman.0
