The Rural Voice, 1990-11, Page 29ONCE GONE - BUT BACK AGAIN: Well-known commercial corn grower in the late 40s and 50s Sam Newell of Wentworth County has been restoring antique farm equipment for many years. The late model Beatty 1938 patent windmill (opposite page and cover photo) originally came from a farm near Milton, Ontario. It is one of two restored wind machines incorporated on Newell's attractive farm home site. The earlier windmill with wooden blades (left), patented 1918, came from a Paisley area farm. Newell meticulously replaced each blade. Each blade had to be set at a distinctly individual angle. Photographs by W. Merle Gun NOVEMBER 1990 25
