THANK YOU HURON COUNTY
The directors of HCFA recently made a
major investment in farm machinery. In one
fell swoop, a tractor, a combine, and a corn
planter were purchased Toys, that is!
The agricultural kit, prepared by the
Women's Institute in the county for school
use, now has items that are worn and must be
replaced. It has always been HCFA's partici-
pation that provided the machinery.
A special thanks to Henry, of Huron
Tractor in Blyth He provided us with useful
suggestions re durability of the models under
"play" conditions. He also gave us a very
good deal! Thank you, Henry.
ARE YOU READY FOR THE GST?
Do you want to pay your accountant to
do your GST when you could do it yourself?
The Federal Goods and Services Tax is
scheduled to come into effect on January 1,
1991, and will result in a substantial amount of
new record-keeping, as well as forms to be
completed by a farmer to get the rebate.
The Ontario Agricultural Training Insti-
tute (associated with OFA) is developing an
effective course to help farmers cope with the
GST. This one -day course is intended to be
offered before the end of the year, in co-op-
eration with HITAC. To gauge the demand,
and to plan sufficient dates on which to offer
the course, your federation needs to know if
you will be attending. Please contact the
County Federation Office — Mondays OR Fri-
days at 482-9642 — to indicate whether you
want to take this course on GST record-
keeping 0
