ADVICE
DEFINING PERILS
Which is more hazardous — a
pesticide labelled "warning, poison," or
one labelled "danger, poison?"
Federal authorities call these sig-
nal words, and insist they appear in large
letters on the front of every pesticide
container.
"Caution" means the chemical has
relatively low toxicity. "Warning"
means it's moderately poisonous, and
"danger" means it's highly toxic. These
and other safety facts are featured in a
free booklet from the Crop Protection
Institute of Canada (CPIC) titled, "Farm
Chemical Safety is in Your Hands."
Copies of the booklet may be ob-
tained by sending requests to CPIC, 6

dealer or operator is licensed and they
must ensure that:

i) within 10 business days of the sale,
ii) by 2:00 p.m. of the next business day
for grain sold out of storage,
iii) at 75 per cent of the current market
value when sold on a basis or price later
contract.

45 days if grain is stored.

spector immediately of any non-pay-
ment or suspected default.
