JD INTRODUCES
PULL -TYPE COMBINE
John Deere's new pull -type com-
bine, the 9501 Maximizer, was designed
and built on the strength of the 9000
series Maximizer self-propelled com-
bines.
"This all-new combine is exactly
what the pull -type combine customer
has been asking for," says Lawrence
Rudd, general sales manager for John
Deere Limited.
The 9501 is made for today's big two
and four-wheel-drive tractors with 165
or more PTO hp. The driveline, hitch,
and control features enhance the 1,000
rpm PTO and closed centre hydraulic
systems.
The combine has an exclusive short -
turn waming system. An alarm sounds
when the tractor tires approach the
hitch, helping avoid driveline damage.
The 14 -foot pickup platform
matches up with a 154 -inch -wide belt
pickup for the widest windrowed grain
harvesting head John Deere has ever
offered. A 12 -foot platform is also of-
fered with optional 110 -inch or 132 -
inch belt pickups.
The Quadra-Flow cleaning system
features four modular dual -flow clean-
ing fans and a new pre -cleaner.
A straw -chopper mounting design
allows the chopper to be rolled into a
storage position when windrowing
straw for baling.
Grain tank capacity is 215 bushels.
An indicator in the tractor cab alerts the
operator when the grain tank is nearly
full.
Machine functions are fully moni-
tored through a two -function digital
read-out for cylinder speed and cleaning
fan speed, and a display panel with indi-
cator lights and audible warning.0
