Organizers of the Ontario Pork
Congress in Stratford last month report
that they were pleased with the high
quality of the show and exhibits. Fol-
lowing are the show and sale results:
Six feeders at $250 each, consigned
by Amy Thomas of Ethel, were pur-
chased by the Ontario Livestock Ex-
change, Waterloo. The carcass con-
signer was Ken Gunson of Puslinch.
The live market single, consigned by
Arnold Ypma of Tillsonburg, sold to
Grand Valley Fortifiers of Cambridge
for $5 a pound (203 pounds).
The live market pair was consigned
by Bill Kuyvenhoven of Orangeville
and purchased by Shur Gain of St.
Marys (396 pounds at $2.75 a pound).
Also bought by Shur Gain was the
live market trio consigned by Ivan
Roobroeck of Gadshill (555 pounds at
$1.25 a pound).
The Ontario Livestock Exchange
purchased the junior barrow consigned
by Donny Mosburger of St. Agatha (198
pounds at $3.50 a pound).
The supreme grand champion boar,
a Duroc owned by George Baarda of St.
Marys, was purchased by D & H Stam
Farms for $1,100.
The reserve grand champion boar, a
York from Haren Yorkshires of Ridge -
town, sold to Ben DeBrouwer.
The champion Hampshire boar went

Surge Milk Quality Master Awards are
presented to producers who exhibit high
standards of quality control. They must
also produce milk with an average so-
matic cell count of 100,000 or less for 12
months as well as a bacteria count aver-
age of under 5,000.

Monoway Farms in Brussels.
The champion Landrace from An-
dreas Schertzer of Tecumseh went to
John Franken for $450.
The champion Yorkshire gilt was
purchased from Bill Kuyvenhoven by
Scott Robinson of Walton.
The supreme champion Landrace
gilt was consigned by John Hessels of
Goderich and sold to Doug McLeod of
Embro for $750.
Monoway Farms consigned the
champion Hampshire gilt, bought by
Tim Small for $575.
The champion Duroc gilt went to
Keith Baechler for $325 from Thames
Bend Farms of Tavistock.0
