FENCE DESIGN
ADDS STRENGTH
B & L Farm Services of Chesley has
introduced its Ranch Classic Slide
Board Oak Fence which both looks
good and is five times stronger than a
nailed board fence.
The fence's 5 3/4 -inch by 5 3/4 -inch
comer posts and the 2 3/4 -inch by 5 3/4 -
inch line posts are mortised through the
centre, allowing for the overlap con-
struction of the 1 by 5 3/4 -inch boards
which are bevelled at the ends to ensure
consistent tight -fitting boards.
Posts are put in the ground at 8 -foot
centres and fence boards are slipped in.
Because of the fence's design, post
centres don't have to be exact.
The Ranch Classic top rail height can
be between 54 and 58 inches.
All post tops are bevelled on the top
edge to eliminate sharp edges. Each
post also has a staple in the top to elimi-
nate any splitting.
The fence is available in 3 or4-board
design, with all posts being 8 feet long.
The slide -board design means there
is no worry of boards being pushed off
by pressure from stock on either side.

average of other varieties, Harovinton is
a large white hilum seed which suits the
